About tradition and myth:

Kojagori Lakshmi Puja is a Bengali festival dedicated to Goddess Lakshmi, observed on the full moon night of Ashwin (usually October).

On this night, devotees believe the goddess visits homes to bless them with wealth and prosperity. The word “Kojagori” means “Who is awake?”, as it is believed she blesses those who stay awake in devotion.

Homes are cleaned and decorated with alpana, and offerings like fruits, sweets, puffed rice (khoi), and coconut (narkel nadu very yammy)are made. Families perform rituals, pray, and often stay awake through the night seeking her blessings.
